Beauvoir – The National Cathedral Elementary School
In 2000, Beauvoir - The National Cathedral Elementary School in Washington, D.C., was undergoing an expansion and renovation of the school. Under the contract, the expansion and renovation was negotiated as a guaranteed maximum price (GMP) contract with the construction manager acting as the general contractor.
O'C&L was retained by the Board of Directors of the Beauvoir School to consult on this project because the expansion and renovation was estimated to be significantly over budget. O’C&L undertook an in-depth study of the issues and recommended an extensive value engineering process. Working with the architect and general contractor, O’C&L guided the project to completion under budget. The total final construction cost for this project was approximately $20 million.
