The National Cathedral School for Girls
This project involved the construction of an athletic complex, which included basketball courts; practice gyms; a parking garage; offices; locker room and shower facilities; and weight training rooms to serve the National Cathedral School for Girls in Washington, DC. Most of this new structure was constructed below grade; new outdoor athletic fields were constructed on the roof of the building. O’C&L was retained to provide schedule review, claims analysis, and consultation to the owners, essentially replacing the functions provided by the owner’s representative.
O’C&L attended weekly Owner’s meetings and conducted joint project walkthroughs with the general contractor for monthly schedule updates. O’C&L also reviewed the general contractor’s schedule submissions, assisted the general contractor in developing a recovery schedule, and provided review of general contractor’s claims. Finally, O’C&L verified and documented the general contractor’s progress on punch-list work and provided change order and claim review and negotiation.
