Montgomery County Transportation Facilities Construction PM Contract:  Manages a staff of 20 Construction Inspectors, Utility Inspectors, IT Specialists, Document Control Specialists, Arborists and Tree Inspectors. The contract includes construction administration, inspection, and testing. Larry provides professional oversight of all the County's Tree Program and claims analysis assignments.

Baltimore Harbor TunnelTotal Rehabilitation. This project included full deck and deck support replacement,   construction of all new approach roadways, complete tile replacement, complete ceiling replacement, upgrades to the ventilation system, repairs to all deteriorated concrete in the ventilation system and upgrading the lighting and lane signals.

Rt. 272 Interchange John F. Kennedy Highway: The project included removal of the existing bridge and constructing a new bridge.  The project included reconfiguration and adding new interchange ramps, realignment and reconstruction all approach roadways, installation of new drainages throughout the project, installation of new roadway lighting and installation of new roadway safety devices and guardrail. A new access road was constructed for the Cecile Community College and the entrances modified.

Mr. Schuerholz has over 50 years of experience in major highway and bridge projects in the state of Maryland. From 1981 until June of 2004, he worked as the Area Engineer and lead on The Baltimore Harbor Tunnel total rehabilitation; the reconstruction of the I-95 Rt. 272 interchange; the reconstruction of the I-95 Rt.22 interchange; The Baltimore Harbor Tunnel Toll Plaza renovation; The John F. Kennedy Highway Toll Plaza renovation; Resurfacing projects on The John F. Kennedy Highway from the Baltimore City line to the Delaware state line.

In June of 2004 Larry became the Director of Construction for the Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA). He was in charge of all phases of construction projects from Notice to Proceed to final completion. This included bridges, highways, and facilities.

A major project included completion of The Chesapeake Bay Bridge Phase I Redecking contract. He was  the lead for the Bay Bridge precast deck preservation project and the lead forming the Construction Management team for the Section 100 I-95/ I-695 ETL project .
He has thorough knowledge of the Maryland Department of Transportation/State Highway Administration Standard Specifications for Construction, the state of Maryland procurement regulations, and construction requirements. He has successfully managed and resolved numerous claims as MDTA's Director of Construction.

Presently, Larry serves as the Senior Vice President and manages the Montgomery County Transportation Contracts.
